Sweetwater Steel was founded by brothers Steven and David Mueller in 1993. Continuing the family legacy, they followed in the footsteps of their grandfather, father, and uncle, who established Mueller Supply Company in the 1960s. Mueller Supply grew to become one of the largest steel distributors in West Texas during the 70s and 80s.

We are a locally operated business rooted in the same honest principles as our forebears. Our commitment to our customers is at the heart of everything we do, striving to provide excellent customer service and support the communities we serve.

When Mueller Supply was sold in 1984, Steven and David saw an opportunity to start a business of their own. They opened Sweetwater Steel in Sweetwater, Texas, and later expanded to Early, Texas. At Sweetwater Steel, we pride ourselves on helping customers the old-fashioned way, with a personal touch and a dedication to quality and service.
